Darlene Elaine Becker, 88 of Seneca, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 17, 2024, at Crestview nursing and residential living in Seneca.

Darlene was born on October 28, 1936, on a farm north of Seneca. The daughter of Oren Leslie and Lottie Mae McKee McClain. Darlene graduated from Seneca High School in May of 1954. After graduation she went to work at Pelletier Department Store in Topeka,

On July 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to Leo G. Becker at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. They started their life together in Topeka, Kansas, where she worked as telephone operator. Later they moved to Sabetha. In 1962 she and Leo settled in Seneca and started up Becker Body Shop.

Darlene worked at the Cedar Motel and in the 1970’s started a job at the Big B Grocery Store in Seneca until her retirement.

She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Seneca. Darlene was a devoted mother and grandmother attending their ballgames, fishing, Camping and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, December 7, 2022, a son Kevin August 23, 2019, her sisters, Mildred Melvin Sweet and Velma Sweet.

She is survived by a daughter Kathy (Blane) Smith of Beattie a Son Karl Becker of Nipomo, California, two grandsons Bradley Leo (Serena) Huerter of Seneca and Timothy James Huerter of Seneca, five grandchildren, Garrett, Ella, Piper, Tatum and Evern Huerter.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca prior to the Mass of Christian Burial which will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. The giftbearers are the grandchildren, Garrett, Ella, Piper, Tatum and Evren. The lector is Dean Becker.  The pallbearers are Karl Becker, Garrett Huerter, Brad Huerter, Tim Huerter, Blane Smith and Jim Bontrager

Memorials can be given in Darlene’s memory will be designated at a later date and sent in care of the family.
