Michael L. Boeding, 44, of Corning, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at his home in Corning.
He was born November 22, 1956, in Denver, Colorado. When he was three weeks old, he was adopted by Lambert and Marlys Stansell Boeding and came to live at Corning, Kansas. He grew up there, attended Corning Grade School, and graduated from Centralia High School at Centralia, Kansas, in 1974.
Michael attended the Building & Trade School at Atchison, Kansas. He learned the trade of bricklaying, and during the summer he worked for a firm laying brick in the state of Washington. Following school, he was employed by a bricklaying company in western Kansas. In 1976 he started work at Goodyear in Topeka where he manufactured large tires for earthmoving machines for 24 years. While Goodyear was on strike, he also worked for Kansas Power & Light and for the Jeffrey Energy Center.
He was married to Tamra Freed in August of 1988; they were later divorced.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church at Corning, Duck’s Unlimited in Seneca, and the Rubber Workers Local #307 in Topeka. A very charitable and well-liked person, Michael was supportive to a number of organizations and sponsored two children through World Visions. He loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors are a daughter, Sheyanne Boeding of Topeka, his parents, Lambert and Marlys Boeding of Corning, and a sister, Jody Morgan of Goff.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Friday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorial contributions may be given for St. Patrick’s Cemetery, and sent in care of the family.
