Crescentia M. “Tiny” Lehmkuhl, 95, of Seneca, Kansas, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

She was born March 27, 1918, on a farm south of Seneca, the daughter of Henry and Theresa Heideman Feldkamp. She attended Triumph School, Sts. Peter & Paul School, and helped on the family farm. After school she helped neighbors with newborn babies and housework.

On July 4, 1943, she married Kenneth J. “Kenny” Lehmkuhl at Camp Cook, Santa Maria, California, while he was serving with the U.S. Army. Kenny was later transferred to Muskogee, Oklahoma and Brownsville, Texas before serving overseas. Tiny lived in Seneca while he was overseas. After Kenny’s discharge in 1945 he returned to Seneca and they made Seneca their home.

Beginning in 1959 she worked at the Seneca Hospital as a nurses aide and in central supply, retiring in 1990. She was recognized for serving 50 years as a eucharistic minister for the hospital.

Tiny and Kenny publicly celebrated their 50th & 60th wedding anniversaries. Kenny preceded her in death on April 2, 2004.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society at the church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Hospital Guild and the LCBA, all in Seneca.

Tiny enjoyed numerous activities, ranging from cooking and canning to sewing, needlework and gardening, as well as playing cards. She loved to visit with anyone about anything, and would travel anywhere someone invited her. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and kept current on all their activities.

She is survived by her four daughters, Sharon (Verl) Norwood, of Kansas City Missouri, Elaine (Ron) Broxterman and Bernita (T.J.) Manos, both of Topeka, and Glenda (Jim) Moore of Columbia, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Haverkamp of Seneca; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband Kenny, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Raphael, and Benedict Feldkamp; and a sister, Adriana Schmidt.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Tuesday, April 16, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Wednesday, April 17, at the Knights of Columbus Building in Seneca. Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Seneca.

Memorial contributions can be given for Sts. Peter & Paul Restoration Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and sent in care of the family.
