Larry Spring

Larry Lee Spring, 74, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Seneca, died November 6, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home in Kansas City.
Larry was born on September 4, 1939, in Seneca, son of Leo A. and Elsie M. Keithley Spring.
Larry attended Seneca Grade School and graduated from Seneca Public High School in 1957. On June 17, 1957, Larry joined the United States Navy and obtained the rank of E-5. Larry was assigned to the commandant Ninth Naval District and served on the U.S.S. Fremont as a radar man. He was discharged on June 16, 1963 after six years of service. After his military he was hired on at the Hallmark Cards in Kansas City and retiring after 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo on May 20, 1988 and Elsie on June 4, 1986; a sister, Kay Lynn Dorssom on April 2, 1973; and a brother, Gary on October 2, 1987.
He is survived by two children, Kathy Brown of Independence, Missouri and Terry(Debbie) Spring of Peculiar, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Justin Brown, Tracie Spring and Jeremy Spring.
Graveside Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Seneca City Cemetery in Seneca. Full military honors were provided by the Seneca Memorial Post #7458 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Earl W. Taylor Post #21.
