Anna M. Ronnebaum

Anna M. Ronnebaum, 85, of Seneca, Kansas, died Tuesday, May 22, 1973 at Crestview Manor care home in Seneca, where she had been a resident since June 2, 1969. She had also spent several months in the hospital recently.
Anna was born October 14, 1887, on a farm near Axtell, the daughter of Henry Strathman and Mary Guenther Strathman. She grew up south of Seneca.
On April 26, 1906 she married Clemens J. Ronnebaum at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. They farmed northeast of Seneca in the Oneida area. Clemens preceded her in death on January 17, 1948. Anna remained on the family farm until 1959, when she moved into Seneca. She had been in ill health since 1967.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca and St. Ann’s Altar Society at the church.
Survivors include four sons, Henry of Kansas City, Kansas, Sylvester “Bud” and Wilfred of Seneca, and Melvin of Corning; four daughters, Evelyn (Raymond) Hammes of Topeka, Catherine (Wilfred) Rettele of Lansing, Helen (Lawrence) Heinen of Seneca, and Florence (Joseph) Deters of Centralia; two brothers, Henry Strathman of Rockton, Illlinois and John Strathman of Sabetha; one sister, Mrs. A.J. Spielman of Seneca; 34 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Frances, and a son, Vincent in 1968.
Rosaries were prayed on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial was offered Friday, May 25, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca with Fr. Leo Ortman officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Lyle Ronnebaum, Vernon Hammes, Bernard Ronnebaum, Allen Ronnebaum, Bill Rettele and Larry Heinen.
