Glen J. Meyer, 55, passed Friday, August 26, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

He was born December 2, 1960 in Seneca, Kansas, the son of Mildred Olberding Meyer and the late Frank H. Meyer Jr.

Glen graduated from B&B High School in 1979 and was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Baileyville.

Glen started farming with his parents and continued this occupation his entire life. He was involved and served on many community organizations including: the Step Foundation, the Nemaha County Coop, the Knights of Columbus serving as a 4th degree Knight and Grand Knight, the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital Board, the Nemaha County Training Center, and the Sacred Heart Church as a parish council member and a member of the finance council.

Glen loved his family and was a very proud supporter of his nieces and nephews attending numerous school functions and activities.

He always made sure their grandmother was able to attend the events as well.

Glen was a long-time KSU ticket holder. He looked forward to getting family and friends together before the game to tailgate. Glen showed strong devotion to his country by donating flagpoles along with American flags at various venues in the Baileyville and Seneca area. He continued replacing the flags as needed. Glen’s generous nature has been a blessing to our local communities. His passing will affect countless people.

Glen was preceded in death by his father Frank on August 16, 1982 and his nephew Andrew Meyer on January 8, 2002; a sister- in -law Pattie Meyer on January 11, 2011.

Glen is survived by his mother, Mildred of Seneca, 6 brothers Gary, (Nancy) of Baldwin City, Roy (Sue) of Ottumwa, Iowa, Daniel (Vicky) of Baileyville, Terry of Soldier, Mark (Brenda) of Baileyville, and Alan (Joan) of Seneca; 7 nieces, 8 nephews, 7 great nephews, and 5 great nieces.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart’s Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery next to his dad in Baileyville. A rosary will be prayed on Monday at 2 & 7 PM at the Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville.
