William R. Bill Clements
Seneca, KS

William R. Clements passed away on November 9, 2016 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital’s emergency room in Seneca, Kansas.
Bill, as he was more commonly known, was born on April 13, 1938, in his maternal grandparent’s home (William and Catherine Lauer Woltkamp) in Seneca. Upon graduation from Sts. Peter & Paul High School in 1956, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy in which he attained the rank of E-4 as an Attack Air Crewman. His enlistment ended in 1960.
Then in the summer of 1960 Bill moved to Leadville, CO where he went to work at the Climax Molybdenum Co. in Climax. This mining endeavor ended in early 1968 when he moved to Seattle, WA to work at Boeing as an airplane electrician. When Boeing started their layoff process, Bill was finally laid-off in 1972. He then used the GI Bill to attend ITT and studied computer science. Upon graduation in 1973, Bill was hired by Tradewell Stores as their data processing manager which lasted until 1977. During this time he met and married his wife, Sammye, in 1974, but they later divorced in 1977. After leaving Tradewell, Bill worked several jobs in the Seattle area some of which are: installation and inspection of fire suppression systems for Moore Fire Protection Co., construction, and an apartment manager.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Durward (Dan) and Kathryn Woltkamp Clements, and two younger brothers Jay B. and Daniel, and paternal grandparents Wallace and Ruth Cromwell Clements.
He is survived by his sister K’Lynne (George/Saki) Gress of Kansas City, MO, two brothers David Clements of Seneca, KS and Robin (Rebecca) Clements of Fortine, MT. , and 2 nieces and 3 nephews, 5 great-nephews/nieces, and 1 great-great nephew.
