Rose Marie Norvell, 78, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at her son’s home near St. Louis, MO, after a battle with cancer.

Rose was born on May 21, 1930, in Summerfield, KS to parents James and Mary Cunningham. She grew up in Seneca, KS and graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School.

On October 12, 1961, she married Jack Norvell in Kansas City, MO. Prior to her career as a dedicated mother and homemaker, she worked at Westinghouse and at National Bellas Hess in Kansas City. She was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church in Independence, MO.

She is survived by her son Brian (Suzanne) Norvell; three grandchildren, James, Alexander, and Claire Norvell, all of St. Louis, MO; and three sisters, Mary Hughes and Theresa Linville, both of Seneca, KS, and Frieda Files of Irving, CA.

She was preceded in death by husband Jack, and five brothers, Robert, Francis, Joseph, Edward and Jerry Cunningham.

A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Tuesday, September 9, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.
