Carl H. Buttner, 70, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at his home in Nashville, TN.

Carl was born on November 27, 1937 to Adolph F. and Dorothy L. Boydston Buttner in Axtell, KS. He attended Seneca Public School in Seneca, KS, and then went to work for the Nemaha County Road and Bridge Department where Seneca is the county seat. Due to health reasons, he took early retirement.

Carl took great pleasure in fishing and gardening; he loved the outdoors, attending tractor pulls, and family gatherings. He also enjoyed traveling the open road on his Harley.

His parents, a brother Frank, and a sister, Edith Tate, preceded him in death.

Carl is survived by a brother, Edwin Buttner of Seneca; four sisters, Velma McClintock of Pawnee City, NE, Ruby Menhusen of Grand Island, NE, Rosemary Monaghan of Hiawatha, KS, and Marcia Buttner of Manhattan, KS; and Dave Goodman, his caregiver.

Graveside service is 10 AM Friday, July 11, at the Seneca City Cemetery.
