Rosalie Ann "Rosie" Haverkamp

Rosalie “Rosie” Ann Koch Haverkamp, 43, of Baileyville, KS, lost her six-month battle against Pulmonary Articular Hypertension on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Bryan LGH Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, NE.
Rosalie was born March 28, 1966, the daughter of Sylvester and Dorothy Mae Mergenmeier Koch. She attended school in Baileyville and graduated from B&B in 1984. After graduation, she helped on the family farm and was later employed by Bob’s Sirloin.
On June 29, 1985 she married Wayne Haverkamp at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Rosie went to work for the Seneca Meat Market in 1992 but left in 1998 to be a “stay at home Mom.” In 2002 she returned to the work force, and was employed by CR Industries in Seneca. In 2006 the couple bought the Seneca Meat Market which she continued to operate until her death.
Rosie was a dedicated mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, writing and various crafts. She particularly enjoyed vacations spent in the mountains. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Baileville. Her family would like for her to be remembered for her optimistic outlook and determination and her valiant and unwavering fight to the end.
She leaves behind her mother Dorothy Mae Koch of Baileyville; her husband, Wayne Haverkamp of Lawrence; her three daughters, Rebecca, Stephanie and Shaya, all of Baileyville; five brothers, Nick of Cheraw, CO, Jerry, Charles, Greg (“Beaver”) and Tom (“Bones”), all of Baileyville; five sisters, Deborah Warchuck of Ruth, MI, Annette Wietharn of Overland Park, Mary Wietharn of St. Marys, Elizabeth Stallbaumer of Axtell and Stella Reeder of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester on March 16, 1970, her infant son, Jeremiah Joseph Haverkamp on May 3, 1987, and her brother, Peter Koch on February 13, 2008.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Friday, October 23, at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Thursday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given in Rosalie’s memory to an education fund for her children, and sent in care of the family.
