Charles J. "Chuck" Love
Wetmore, KS

Charles James Love, 76, of Wetmore died April 21, 1970, at the Holton Hospital.
Chuck was born on March 22, 1893 in Buffalo New York, in Erie County to George Merrilees and Harriet Alice “Hattie Adams Love. He attended country schools in New York and in Kansas.
In 1910 the family moved to Wetmore, Kansas and in 1930, they had moved to Soldier Township in Shawnee County know as Elmont, Kansas. He worked as a farm laborer. They later moved back to a farm west of Wetmore, Kansas and continued to farm.
In the year of 1918, Charles joined the United States Army and later was discharged do to an injury.
He was a farmer and a carpenter doing small jobs for neighbors and people in the area. He loved to play cards, fish and hunt.
Chuck was united in marriage to Elizabeth K. “Lizzie” Nissen on February 9, 1923 in Topeka; she died on August 11, 1973.
Chuck is survived by his wife Lizzy and two sons, George Love of Wetmore and Harold J. “Joe” (Eddy) Love of Seneca; a daughter, Blanche (Jim) Eisenbarth of Wetmore; six grandchildren, Chuck and Eddie Eisenbarth of Topeka, and Jill, Bill, Janet, and Gary Love, all of Seneca; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Edmund in 1926, sisters; Mary I. White on January 27, 1970, Grace L. Love on January 20, 1890, Stella J. Peterson, on January 16, 1984, Blanche L. Oliver on Jan 1978 and Cora A. Sharrai on August 6, 1997.
The funeral service was held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 13, 1970 in Holton. The burial was in the Wetmore City Cemetery in Wetmore
