Sue Groff
Seneca, KS

Sue Groff, a long-time resident of Seneca, KS, died July 15, 2009 at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital.
Sue was born on a farm north of Seneca on March 25, 1920. She attended school at Saint Benedict, KS and married Vernon Groff at Olympia, WA on October 17, 1941.
Sue was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. She was a woman of strong Christian faith–having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She had a special love for polka music and playing cards. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her eight children, Kay Vondemkamp and husband Tom of Topeka, Judy Strathman and husband Larry of Seneca, Mike Groff and wife Carolyn of Sugar Grove, IL, Vicki Haverkamp and husband Glenn of Topeka, Dave Groff and wife Jane of Topeka, Dan Groff and wife Kathy of Bloomington, IN, Kent Groff of Solsbury, IN, Shelly Luebbe and husband Randy of Topeka; 35 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Vernon on January 18, 2004; and two grandchildren, Sherri Strathman on March 27, 1968 and Greg Strathman on July 6, 1975. Sue was also preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Friday, July 17 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 AM Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given for Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, and sent in care of the family.
