Dorothy H. Haverkamp

Dorothy H. Haverkamp, 96, of Seneca, died on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
She was born September 7, 1921, on a farm south of Seneca, the daughter of Henry and Theresa Heideman Feldkamp. She attended Triumph School, Sts. Peter & Paul School, and helped on the family farm. For a short time, she worked at the Log Cabin where she met her future husband.
On February 1, 1944, she married Vincent Haverkamp at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. In 1948, she went to work for the Seneca Hospital as a nurse’s aide and in the laboratory department. Later she began employment at CR industries and retired from there 1983.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.
Dorothy enjoyed numerous interests, cooking, canning, sewing, quilt work, gardening, playing cards and especially refinishing furniture. She loved to visit. She adored all of her grandchildren and kept up on all of their activities,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent, on October 31, 1963; her daughter, Jan Lueb on June 9, 2013; three brothers, Joseph, Raphael and Benedict Feldkamp; and two sisters, Adriana Schmidt and Tiny Lehmkuhl.
She is survived by her two sons, Leonard (Sharon) Haverkamp of Ellsworth, Kansas and Butch (Vicki) Haverkamp of Topeka; two daughters, Donna Holthaus of Seneca and Mary Beth (Don) Duryea of Solomon, Kansas and a son-in-law Ed Lueb; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made for the Sts. Peter and Paul School and/or Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, sent in care of the family.
