Robert D. Stallbaumer, 72, of Seneca, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home.
Robert “Bob” was born on May 22, 1946 in Axtell to Felix and Lena Ronnebaum Stallbaumer. Bob grew up north of Seneca and attended St. Mary’s School in St. Benedict; graduating from High School in 1964. As a young man, Bob helped his father on the family farm, taking over the farming operation after he got married.
On September 21, 1968, Bob married Dorothy Weinert at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lillis. To this union a daughter, Monica, was born. Dorothy died on October 26, 1973, as result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
On July 8, 1978 Bob married Donna S. Feldkamp in St. Michaels Catholic Church in Axtell. To this union a son, Martin, was born. The couple just celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Donna and Bob made their home on the Stallbaumer family farm, and the couple currently lived in Seneca. Bob continued to operate the farm, and he also drove for Seneca Ready Mix and Seneca Transportation, starting in 1995 and driving this past Monday.
Bob was passionate about his cattle and the land he farmed. He enjoyed cards, going to wedding dances and watching westerns. Bob also enjoyed spending time with Donna and family, relaxing and socializing over the day’s events.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy on October 26, 1973; his parents, Felix on August 6, 1984 and Lena on July 20, 1973; his sister, Alice Rilinger on November 14, 2000; and his brothers, Roland on September 6, 1999 and LeRoy on August 5, 1987.
Bob is survived by his wife Donna; his daughter, Monica (Don) Cooley of Bonner Springs; his son, Martin (Jana) Stallbaumer of Merriam; a brother, Lyle Stallbaumer of Seneca; and four grandchildren, Levi and Milo Cooley and Alanna and Harper Stallbaumer.
The burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, next to his first wife Dorothy, in Seneca.
Memorials can be given in Robert’s memory to Coins for a Cause or Nemaha Valley Community Hospital and sent in care of the family.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict. The burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery next to his first wife Dorothy in Seneca.

My sympathies to Bob’s family. I knew Bob when I worked for John Deere and became good friends w/him. I ‘m glad he is now in a better place, thoughts and prayers for Bob and to his family!

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church at Centralia. The burial will be in the Centralia Cemetery with military honors by a detail from Fort Riley and the American Legion. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
