Earl William Rodecap

Earl William “Bill” Rodecap, 88 Meriden Kansas passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Seneca.
Bill was born on Friday, June 13, 1930 in Perry, Kansas, the son of George and Lola Josephine (Stewart) Rodecap. His family moved to Meriden shortly after and was lifelong residents.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean conflict.
Bill worked for Jefferson County road crew and for the Jeff West USD 340 School district retiring after 30 years as custodian and school bus driver. He also served as a councilman for the City of Meriden for several years.
Bill loved baseball, fishing, woodworking, raising dogs and KU. He coached boy’s baseball teams in Meriden for several years. You would always see Bill wearing variety of hats with “sayings” on them. He would ask you if you read his hats.
Bill and Joyce Ann Wolfe were married on August 31, 1957 and later divorced. They had four children: Anita Jo (Jim) Bayless, Charles LeRoy Rodecap, Michael Scott (Pam) Rodecap and Robin Rae (Bob) Brower. Bill and Marvel Foster were life partners from 1979 to 2015. He is also survived by one sister Emily “PeeWee” (Jerry) Royer, Meriden, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents George and Josephine Rodecap, his brothers George E., Elmer, Roy, sister Mary Rodecap Martin and oldest son Charles.
Cremation is planned and funeral services will be in Spring, 2019.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of,Willie. He was in the room next to my mom at Life Care and was always super sweet. He will be missed when we visit. Prayers for your family.
