Richard "Rick" G. Honeyman
Seneca KS
06/21/1950 - 08/06/2020
Rick Honeyman, 70, died peacefully at his home on August 6, 2020; his family and community feeling the loss of an extraordinary man.
He was born June 21, 1950, oldest son of Robert and Rosella Honeyman. Rick graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School in 1968. He loved the Jayhawks, Royals and Chiefs.
He began his career while in college selling cars at Lewis Toyota and being management at Kent Brown Chevrolet. In 1979, he founded Rick Honeyman Ford & Mercury in Seneca. He loved his Ford customers and employees who became his friend through the years.
He loved coaching American Legion Baseball and youth teams as his kids grew up and later watching his grandchildren play sports. Rick was always present yelling words of encouragement from the sidelines. He had a cheerful personality that could lighten any situation, often with a firework nearby. During his retirement Rick enjoyed golfing at Spring Creek Golf Course. He enjoyed fishing with his son, grandkids and his buds at Clinton Lake. He loved his family with all of his heart, and they will miss his amazing spirit and kindness. He took being a grandparent seriously and his grandchildren will hold onto their special memories of their “Poppy,” as he was one of a kind.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” E. Honeyman on October 8, 2014 and his brother, William J. Honeyman on November 11, 2010.
Condolences
You are all in our thoughts and prayers
To the entire Honeyman family, We pray for your faith to comfort you and for your memories to gravitate to all the wonderful times Rick made us all smile. We all will miss his wonderful grin and spirit. Love and hugs to you all!
So sorry. Many prayers
So sorry for your loss.
All of our love and aloha to his beautiful family. Rick always made sure Janet and I had nice cruising the route car and would always ask us to dance at school functions as we were lined up waiting to be asked!! He had a huge heart and a funny and happy soul. RIP
Our thought and prayers go out to all the Honeymans. Rick was a good friend and great to work with
So very sorry to hear of Rick’s passing. Thinking of all of you at this time.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Rick at the door this spring. He came in and we sat at the kitchen table and our old and new stories began. We laughed so hard at our fishing stories and there were many! He talked about how proud of Ryan he was and buying the dealership here in Marysville was a good investment. I told him I didn’t think I would recognize Halie if I walked right passed her! We talked about our grandkids and how blessed we were (we didn’t get any ugly ones). I send my condolences to all the family. Just know that Bill has been waiting for his best fishing buddy and will be taking him to where the big ones are biting!!! Sending you all Love and Light⭐️
Frank (Jr.) and I are deeply saddened by Ricks passing. We both enjoyed the times we were able to spend together when we traveled to Kansas. We deeply regret that we were not able to have that one last time laughing together this past January when we could not travel back to Kansas. But we will always have our wonderful memories of the time spent at his home in Kansas and the good time we had at KU in October of 2018. Our thoughts and prayers are with Linda and the family during these very difficult days. May Rick forever Rest In Peace. 🙏🙏🙏
Forever Rest In Peace.
My condolences to the Honeyman family-so sorry to hear of Rick’s Passing 🙏

So very sorry for your loss. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Dear Honeyman Family, I have been gone from Seneca for many years but there are people and names that are unforgettable! Your family was very much a part of those years growing up – in many aspects of that time of life. I am so sorry for the loss of your big brother – Rick will be remembered by many with their own stories to tell. I will ask my God to bless each of you, especially your beautiful mother, Rosie. God bless you all.
Linda and I were shocked and deeply saddened to learn about Rick’s passing! It is hard to believe that this dynamic ball of energy with the hearty laugh and
easy warm smile has left us. But we know his amazing spirit lives on with Linda, Ryan , Haley and his grandchildren. It is comforting to know our faith teaches us we will meet again.
I will always be grateful for more than 40 years of loyal friendship and the hospitality Rick and Linda extended to us when I was in the congress.
We cherish our wonderful memories of Rick and Linda and extend our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss. Sincerely. Jim and Linda Slattery
