Arlene K. Mueting Engelken

Arlene K. Mueting Engelken, 88, of Seneca, Kansas died peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Crestview Nursing and residential Living in Seneca.
Arlene was born in Seneca the daughter of John and Clara Ronnebaum Mueting. Arlene attended Sts. Peter and Paul Grade School and High school and graduated in 1953.
She married Quentin Engelken on July 21, 1953, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. In March 1955, she and Quentin moved and bought a farm; where they have lived and farmed since.
Arlene, loved to cook, play cards, make candy, quilting, go to cattle auctions, casino, she served on the Republican Woman for the Adams Township helping with the election board. She also helped with the blood drives and worked at the Mission Center in Seneca. She cooked for the Seneca Grades school and for the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society. Member of the WW Club.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Quentin on November 24. 2018, her son, John on January 5, 1978; her brother John on April 10, 1946.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan (Mike) Corcran of Topeka, Diane Engelken of Topeka and Jean (Duane) Dressman of Vliets; three grandchildren, Nathan Dressman of Wamego, Derek Dressman of Vliets and Emily Deters of Baileyville; three great-grandchildren, Lola, Duke and Kip; and sisters, Alice Koch, and Judy Rottinghaus both of Seneca.
A rosary will be prayed at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 10;30 A.M. a half an hour before Mass on Friday, April 26, 2024. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 26, 202418 at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be left in Arlene’s memory to the Sts. Peter and Pual Church and or STEP Foundation.
