Alice Ann Rennenger Sedlacek
Seneca, Kansas

Alice Ann Rennenger Sedlacek, 84, of Seneca, died on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Clare Hospice House in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a courageous battle against cancer. During her cancer treatment she was living with her son, Jim, in Tulsa.
Alice’s life story began on June 28, 1935 when she was born on a farm north of Seneca, Kansas to Jacob J. and Wilhelmina C. Rottinghaus Rennenger. She was raised in north of Seneca, she attended from St. Mary’s Grade School in St. Benedict and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1953.
On November 9, 1954 she was married to Wes Sedlacek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Kansas. She worked for Hunnighake Furniture store in Marysville before becoming a full-time homemaker and raising her family.
Alice loved to play cards, especially pinochle and listening to polka music. Alice was very strong in her faith. Alice is loved and remembered by all who knew her. Her smile and laughter will forever be a testament to her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wes; sisters, Bernadine Sedlacek, Aurelia Heinen, Mary Niehues, Elizabeth Rennenger; and a brother, Wilfred Rennenger.
She is loved and remembered by her daughter, Evelyn Zacharias of Smithville, Missouri; sons, James (Mary) Sedlacek of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jerry (Mary Ann) Sedlacek of Yates Center, Kansas and Roger (Celia) Sedlacek of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister, Rosie Niehues of Seneca; and eight grandchildren.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Lauer Funeral Home
The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 8:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.
Burial will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Hanover.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Lauer Funeral Home
