Allan E. Farmer, 78, of Seneca KS died April 24, 2016. He was born April 15, 1938, in Fredrick County VA to Earl and Katherine Farmer.
The family moved to Martinsburg, WV, in 1947, where he continued school. He graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1956. In 1957, he joined the Navy and served until 1961. After the Navy, he went to work for AT&T in Dodge City, Kansas City, Concordia and Fairview, KS. He retired from AT&T in 1991. The family moved to Seneca KS, in 1979, where he lived until the time of his death.
He married Karen Irene Conner in 1962. They were divorced in 1983. She is deceased.
Surviving are his sons: Brad (Linette) Farmer of Lawrence, KS and Michael (Chris) Farmer of Topeka KS. Granddaughters: Lee Michelle Upshaw of Phoenix AZ, and Kylene Etzel of Topeka, KS. Grandson: Kenny (Yvonne, great-granddaughters, Audrey & Cara) Etzel of Topeka KS. Nieces: Leslie Mulligan-Yu of Seattle, WA, Joyce Arnett of Martinsburg WV and Terri Barron of Madison Heights VA. Nephew: Stuart Mulligan of San Francisco CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl Farmer, Katherine Farmer/Lamp and stepfather, Lewis Lamp. Older sisters: Deloris Farmer Milligan and Joann Farmer Barron.
Many people knew Allan (Al) for his cooking, chocolate chip cookies, peanut brittle and generosity.
Allan requested cremation with no funeral or services. A celebration of his life will be held at date yet to be determined.
