Alma I Pavlicek

Alma Irene Pavlicek, 91, Seneca, died Tuesday, January 06, 2015, at Life Care Center of Seneca. Alma was born on April 27, 1923, to Vencil and Christine Krogman Pavlicek. She attended Star Country School through the 8th grade and then one year at Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Baileyville. As a young woman, she helped neighbors with new born babies; and while je brothers were in the service, and also helped her sisters on the family farm. In 1953, she went to Olpe, Kansas to work as a housekeeper and a secretary for the Catholic Church. In 1954, she moved to Wellsville, Missouri to work for the priests, she was there for 44 years. She returned to Seneca to retire. Alma was a passionate reader and was devoted in praying the rosary. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Altar Society both in Seneca. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Pavlicek, John Pavlicek, Leonard Pavlicek, Lawrence Pavlicek and Kenneth Pavlicek; and her sisters, Frances Mitchell Anna Vondrask, Mary Pavlicek, Edith Roggenkamp, Clara Sisk and Bertha Anderson. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be prayed at 2 PM on Friday afternoon at the Lauer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at 10 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 by Fr. Arul Carasala. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery north of Axtell. Memorials may be left in her memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
