Alvin Eugene Heideman

Seneca, Kansas

11/27/1960 - 01/27/2025

Alvin E. Heideman, 64, of Seneca, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2025.

Alvin was born on November 27, 1960, in Axtell, Kansas, to Bernard J. and Bonnie T. McKinley Heideman. He grew up in Axtell, where he attended school and graduated in 1978.

Following high school, Alvin enlisted in the Kansas National Guard, where he proudly served his country. During his time in the military, Alvin was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for his exceptional dedication and efforts. He was honorably discharged on January 15, 1991, at the rank of Sergeant.

After his service, Alvin returned to his roots, helping his parents and working for various businesses, including Gudenkauf Tree Service and Koch & Company. He lived in Oneida for several years before settling in Seneca, where he made his home.

Alvin had a deep passion for restoring old vehicles, often working on projects with his brother Paul. One of his proudest accomplishments was bringing an old Model A pickup truck back to life. What began as an abandoned, dilapidated vehicle was transformed into something special, thanks to Alvin’s hard work and resourcefulness.

Though Alvin never married, he leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: Fern M. Curtis of Falls City, Nebraska, Annette L. Heriford of Burlington, Missouri, and his brother Paul B. Heideman of Sabetha, Kansas.

In keeping with Alvin’s simple and humble nature, a graveside service with military honors will be held on May 16, 2025, at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, located north of Axtell, Kansas. The Lauer Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
