Betty L. Ramsey

Betty L. Ramsey, 88, of Seneca, Kansas, died Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
She was born on August 15, 1924 to Boyd and Fannie Smith Gregg at Rock Creek, Kansas. She attended grade school in Rock Creek and then Valley Falls High School, graduating with the Class of 1942. She went to work for the State of Kansas in Topeka.
She married William Kenneth “Kenny” Ramsey on July 6, 1946 in Topeka. The couple moved to Fairview and then to Seneca. Betty was employed at the Nemaha County Courthouse, the Seneca Public School as a secretary, Nemaha Valley Community Hospital as a cook, and Country View Estates care home (now Life Care Center) as a cook.
She enjoyed camping, bingo, knitting and crocheting, traveling, going to the casino, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny and seven siblings.
She is survived by her son, William (Patricia) Ramsey of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Glenda (David) Sanders of Topeka; grandchildren, Michael (Stacey) Ramsey and Kyle Sanders; and great-grandchildren Blake and Kiley Ramsey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 15, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Family will meet with friends from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service. There will be a private burial at Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls, Kansas.
Memorials may be given in remembrance of Betty for the Seneca Veterans Wall.
