Daniel B. "Izzy" Eisenbarth

Seneca, Kansas

Daniel B. “Izzy” Eisenbarth, 52, of Seneca, Kansas, died late Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. He was diagnosed with renal cell cancer in January of 2008.

He was born July 8, 1956, in Seneca, the son of Regis and Teresa Henry Eisenbarth. He attended Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School and graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1974.

On August 30, 1980, he married Bonnie Stallbaumer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Kansas.

“Izzy,” as he was known around Seneca, was employed by Nemaha County Co-Op for 15 years. He also worked at Heideman Smokehouse, CR Industries, and most recently Koch and Company in Seneca.

He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Sons of the American Legion, and a former member of the Seneca Fire Department.

Izzy was a talented softball player and bowler, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be most remembered for his infectious smile and his ability to make others laugh.

He leaves behind his wife Bonnie; his son Jay of Derwood, Maryland; his two daughters, Julie of Lawrence and Hailey of Manhattan; his mother and stepfather, Teresa and Leo Meyer of Seneca; two sisters, Colleen Peterson of Wichita and Denise Sowers of Centralia; and a brother Darrin Eisenbarth of Seneca.

He was preceded in death by his father Regis Eisenbarth on October 3, 1992, and a good friend James F. Osterhaus on February 3, 1999.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Thursday, July 24, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM Friday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Izzy’s memory for the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, and sent in care of the family.
