E. Lois Gordon

Edna Lois Gordon, 82, of Seneca, KS, died Thursday, September 22, 2005, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, KS. She was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Lois, as she was known, was born March 4, 1923, near Wheaton, KS, the daughter of Joseph W. and Arcena Crevier Sanders. She graduated from the Beattie High School.
She was married to William E. DePoortere and lived in Kansas City until 1975. She was employed in North Kansas City as the manager of a nationwide catalog company from 1960 to 1975. Lois and her husband were planning to move to Seneca when William became ill and died February 22, 1975. Lois moved to the Lake Nemaha area near Seneca. She worked at CR Industries from 1977 to 1987.
On September 26, 1981, she married LeRoy “Buss” Gordon at Beatrice, NE. They lived in Marysville, Seneca and Washington, KS. She moved to Terrace Heights in Seneca in September of 2004. Her husband, “Buss,” died January 10, 2005.
Lois enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, growing flowers, and sewing.
Survivors are a son, Roger Fuller, Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Roberta Vaughn, Lathrop, MO and Sue Macasio, Seneca; a step-daughters, Sharon Gordon, Memphis, TN; two brothers, Leo Sanders, Baileyville and Joseph “Jody” Sanders, Centralia; two sisters, Eileen Gundelfinger, Axtell, and Rita Berry, Marysville; and 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Sanders; and four sisters, Marie Thorn and Arcena Pifer, and Rose and Lila as infants.
Memorial service will be 2 PM Sunday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Family will meet with friends for one hour before the service. Inurnment will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery following the service.
Memorials may be given for the donor’s choice, and sent in care of the family.
