Betty Boeding

Olatha, Kansas

Betty Boeding, 89, of Tonganoxie, Kansas died on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Olathe Hospice House in Olathe.

Betty was born on July 30, 1929 on farm near Baileyville, the daughter of Henry F. and Elizabeth Dick Kramer. As a young child, she moved to Seneca to live with her sister Rosemary Nolte. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School and graduated from High School in 1947. She was instrumental in starting the girls’ basketball program when it was a 3 on 3 team. After she graduated from high school, she went to St. Mary’s College and received her teaching certificate; she taught a few years in a country school near Baileyville, before she was married.

On August 23, 1948 she married Victor Boeding at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. As newlyweds, they lived in a few different cities before settling in Grandview, MO. They celebrated 59 years on marriage before Victor death on October 5, 2007.

She was a member of Coronation of Our Lady in Grandview for many years. After her husband died, she lived with her children before moving into an Assisted Living Facility.

Betty loved going to garage sales and babysitting her grandchildren.

Besides her husband Victor, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Good; a granddaughter, Angela Boeding; and siblings, Adrian, Louis, John, Don, Leroy, Jim and Rosemary Nolte.

She is survived by her children, Beth (Bob) Dolezal of Manhattan, Illinois, Brian Boeding of Kansas City and Craig (Michelle) Boeding of Tonganoxie; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services are 1 P.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Seneca. A visitation will be Saturday morning from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, prior to the graveside service.

Memorial are for Sts. Peter and Paul Basketball Program, sent in care of the Lauer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 11 to 1 on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca

Graveside services will be at 1 PM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Seneca.
