Georgina M. Haverkamp Holthaus

Georgina Mary Haverkamp Holthaus, 76, of Baileyville, KS, passed away on April 18, 2022, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Georgina was born in the Seneca Hospital on September 2, 1945, to George and Evelyn Winkler Haverkamp. She graduated from Kelly High School in 1963 and worked at the County Treasurer’s office until she got married.
On June 13, 1964, she married Harlan Holthaus at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly, KS. The couple lived near Baileyville, KS for the past 58 years making their living as farmers and raising livestock.
Georgina was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a kind soul to so many. She loved spending time with her family and making others feel loved. Georgina enjoyed being outside, gardening, cooking, baking, walking, sunsets, tending to her chickens, and quietly doing good deeds. She frequently visited the elderly, baked cookies for events, and played and taught piano. Georgina was active in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years and served as President of the Altar Sodality.
Georgina is preceded in death by her infant son, Michael; her parents; brothers Avitus, Melvin, Bob, and Bill Haverkamp; sister-in-law Patricia Haverkamp; and brothers-in-law Roy Dalinghaus, and Nicholas Holthaus.
Georgina is survived by her husband Harlan; children, Annette (Bob) Rottinghaus of Baileyville, David (Teresa) Holthaus of Baileyville, Janel Fillinger of Draper, UT, Cheryl (Ben) Sigle of St. George, KS, and Bonnie (Tim) Rock of Leawood, KS; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one on the way, and her twin brother George (Jolene) Haverkamp of Seneca.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials given in Georgina’s memory will be designated by the family at a later date.
