Howard L. Arnold, 68, of Seneca, Kansas lost his battle against cancer on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at his home.
He was born on June 30, 1945 to John and Elsie Marie (Lennox) Arnold. He attended Pink Hill Elementary and Stockton Elementary School, graduating from high school in 1963. He attended college on a baseball scholarship and then he was drafted in the Army where he fought in the Vietnam War.
After serving his country, he worked construction in Kansas City, helping in building Arrowhead. He was an over the road truck driver, delivering various loads all over the United States. He moved to Seneca in the late 1989 and was employed by Bennett Trucking. He worked for Seneca Transportation from 1991until his death.
He enjoyed reading, often telling others that he simply enjoyed the written word, he was a man who spoke his mind. He relished attending car and truck shows.
He is survived by his children, Faye Stone of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Lester Stone and Daisy Osborne both of Seneca; five grandchildren, Kacen Taylor, David, Adon, Brandon and Kendyl Osborne; and a brother, Ray Arnold of Stockton, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Dean Arnold.
A private service will be held at a later date.
