James M. Spry Sr.

James M. Spry Sr., 77, of Centralia, died January 8, 2016, at the Eastridge Nursing Home in Centralia.
Jim was born on October 13, 1938, in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Betty Knox Spry. Jim grew up in Evanston and graduated from high school in 1956 from Wakarusa Community School in Indiana. He attended college for a year before entering the United States Air Force.
After service to his country, he married and worked for a Skyline mobile home manufacturing company. His first employment with Skyline, required him being transferred throughout the US; he was in Elkhart, Indiana. Then to Arkansas City for 10 years, when he went to work for Roker Industries another mobile home manufacture then he was transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma then to Denver, Colorado , Riverside, California and then to Stephenville, Texas. He went to work at MBM industries in Fort Worth, Texas for two years then to Bluff City Arkansas where he worked for a cabinet factory in that area. He was offered a job in Seneca working for Koch and Company as a Sales Manager for 18 years.
Jim married Sandra Nelson on March 11, 1978 at the First United Methodist church in Stephenville, Texas.
He enjoyed golfing, reading books and collecting sports cards; he also liked attending various college and pro sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Nelson Spry. He is survived by his children, Dawn Bryhn and Laurie Popp both of Montana and Jim Spry Jr and Sue Partin both of Centralia, Kansas; and siblings, Cheryl Null and Judy Lavoie both of Arundel, Maine.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca from 8AM to 3 PM. Graveside Services will be in Gurdon, Arkansas at the Bethlehem Cemetery, at a later date.
Memorials are to be designated at a later date.
