Kathleen O’Connor, 85, Seneca, KS, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Crestview Manor in Seneca.
She was born March 12, 1919, in Seneca, the daughter of August and Mary Weixelman Brinker.
On January 16, 1940, she married Bernard C. “Pete” O’Connor at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning. They lived and farmed in the Vermillion, Lillis, Frankfort, and Centralia areas, before moved to Seneca in 1969. She worked at Crestview Manor care home for 24 years as a CNA (certified nursing assistant). Her husband Pete preceded her in death on March 22, 1996. They had been married for 56 years.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, St Ann’s Altar Society, and the Seneca Business & Professional Women’s Club, all in Seneca. Kathleen enjoyed playing cards with a card club and with her friends.
Survivors are a son, James B. O’Connor of Seneca; a daughter, Sharon O’Connor Schwartz of Tecumseh, KS; a sister, Joan Danforth of Forney, TX; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Besided her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Johnny, and Lawrence Brinker; and a sister, Lorraine Leonard.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Tuesday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorials may be given for Crestview Manor care home, and sent in care of the family.
