Lambert H. Boeding, 81, of Corning, Kansas, died early Friday morning, September 23, 2005, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. He was transferred there from Life Care Center where he had been a resident since April 19, 2005.

He was born November 23, 1923, on a farm southwest of Kelly, the son of Conrad and Mary Waller Boeding. He attended school in Corning. In 1940 he went to Price Memorial College in Amarillo, Texas. He returned to the farm to help when his brothers were in the army during World War II. In 1945 he moved to Kansas City and worked for Jen-Sal Laboratories.

On February 4, 1947 he married Marlys Stansell at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. They lived in Kansas City until 1953 when they moved to Denver. He was transferred to Denver as a branch manager of Jen-Sal Laboratories. In 1959 they moved to Montrose, Colorado where they built and operated the Rose Bowl Lanes bowling alley. Lambert bowled a perfect 300 while in a league there.

In 1962 they sold the bowling alley and moved to Seneca. Lambert bought a milk route and ran it for a short time before he had a heart attack. In 1963 they moved to a farm north of Corning. They bought the Clemens Insurance Agency which became the Boeding Insurance Agency. They operated the business for 25 years before selling it in 1987. He drove the school bus for District #380 in Centralia until 1991. He also worked at the Amoco Station in Seneca.

They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1997. From 1998 to 2001 he worked at the Golden Eagle Casino in customer relations.

His wife, Marlys, died June 28, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael on April 18, 2001.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church at Corning and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree Knights. He served on the Selective Service Draft Board in Seneca. He enjoyed farming, golfing, and visiting with his friends.

Survivors are a daughter, Jody Honeyman of Topeka; two brothers, Conrad Boeding of Denver, and Sylvester J. “Skall” Boeding of Seneca; a sister, Mary Kohake of Seneca; and two grandchildren.

Besides his wife and son, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Aloysius “Allie,” and Joseph Boeding; five sisters, Lena Gudenkauf, Ann Kramer, Odelia “Tillie” Buessing, Clara Droge, and an infant sister, Margaret Boeding.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Patrick’s Church at Corning. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus at 7 PM Sunday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, where he will lie in state after 8:30 AM Sunday.

Memorials may be given for St. Patrick’s Cemetery or the American Heart Association, and sent in care of the family.
