Larry Dean Klein

Dr. Larry Dean Klein, PhD, passed away at home on May 6, 2016 in New York City.
Larry was born in Topeka, Kansas on April 19, 1940 and was the son of Oscar Roy and Josephine Henrietta (Bliesner) Klein.
He spent his youth in Topeka and then in Salina, KS. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University and received his master’s degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Larry received his doctorate from the University of Kentucky. He then moved to New York City and joined the faculty at Columbia College. He lived the remainder of his life in New York City where he enjoyed the theatre, opera and all of the arts. He was very interested in genealogy and researched the family tree back many generations through several centuries.
He is survived by a sister, Marjory Trowbridge of Topeka, KS and a brother, Oscar Klein, Jr. of Leawood, KS.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ridgway of Arvada, CO. Larry is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
He was cremated and will be buried in Corning, KS where his grandfather William Bliesner is also buried at a later date.
