Lila M. Kreiser Henry

Lila Malloy Krieser Henry, 94, of Kansas City, Missouri died peacefully in her sleep on September 10, 2015 at the Carmel Hills Nursing Home in Independence, Missouri.

Lila was born in rural Corning, Kansas on July 12, 1921, to Francis A. and Viola Faye Edwards Malloy.

She attended Corning Public Schools. Lila was employed by Campbell Soup Company for two years, prior to moving to Kansas City.

On June 16, 1940 Lila married Ralph E. Kreiser in Seneca, Kansas. The couple raised their son and enjoyed 30 years of marriage before Ralph death on April 19, 1971. She married Eugene Henry in 1974 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple maintained homes in both Seneca and Independence for a short time before settling on Independence as their permanent and sole residence.

Lila was a devoted and loving wife, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother; family came first. Lila loved to bowl; bowling in three leagues a week, until here late 80’s. She loved to do her own yard work and maintaining her many flowers. She also enjoyed arts and crafts; she always kept very busy. She loved to camp and fish and play cards at the campfires. She was known for her carrot-orange hair which she claimed was all natural.

Besides her first husband, Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Francis on September 17, 1966 and Viola on July 20, 1988; siblings, Helen Lang Tomlinson on January 12, 2004, Calvin Malloy on August 21 1954, Caroll Malloy on December 3, 1980, Genevieve Rethman Broadbent on November 19, 1999, Elda Rethman on September 25, 1991 and Sandy Quinn on June 6, 1963.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Henry, of Independence, Missouri; a son, Louis E. (Pamela) Krieser of Eagle River, Alaska; a stepson, Clyde Henry of Hawthorne, California; a grandson, Chad M. (Christina) Kreiser of Henderson, Nevada; great grandchildren, Mason and Kaitlyn Kreiser of St. George, New Brunswick, Canada; siblings, Lavern Colby of Kansas City, Esther Chilson and Joyce Potter, both of Topeka and Barbara Bradley of Linden, Kansas.

The Funeral Services were on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca; officiated by Pastor Willy Banza. Her final resting place was in the Seneca City Cemetery next to her husband Ralph.

Memorials may be left to American Heart Association.
