Margaret M. Haug, 88, of Seneca, KS, died early Friday morning, July 11, 2008 at Crestview Manor care home in Seneca.
Margaret was born in Logan, KS on November 24, 1919, the daughter of Henry and Mary Lohmeyer Marqueling. She enjoyed school and graduated from Logan High School in 1937. She worked several years at the variety store in Logan.
Through mutual friends she met her husband, Adrian Haug; they married on November 24, 1953 in Logan, KS. The couple moved to Seneca in 1953 and celebrated 54 years of marriage before Adrian’s death last February. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, who enjoyed being a homemaker. She also cared a great deal for her parents. They moved from Logan to Seneca and lived next door to her, allowing her to spend time with them daily.
Margaret was a faithful member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society in Seneca. She enjoyed listening to her husband play the piano and saxophone, listening to her son’s band, and playing the piano. She also took pleasure in playing cards, canning fruit, and quilting.
She is survived by her son Kenny and wife Sindie of Wichita; two granddaughters, Angela and Kay Dee both of Wichita; her brother Francis Henry Marqueling of Fort Wayne, IN; and her sister Elizabeth Manz of Phillipsburg, KS.
Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 2 PM Monday, July 14, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 2 PM Sunday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorials can be given for the Sts. Peter & Paul Church Building Fund, and sent in care of the family.
