Mary A. Hunninghake, 92, of Seneca, KS, died Saturday afternoon, July 8, 2006, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

She was born August 15, 1913, in Kelly, the daughter of Bernard and Maria E. Temphaus Boeckmann.

On October 7, 1931, she married Henry Hunninghake at St. Bede’s Church in Kelly. They farmed in the Kelly and Corning communities for 50 years before retiring and moving to Seneca in 1982. Her husband, Henry, preceded her in death on February 21, 1986.

Survivors are three sons, Don of Carlsbad, CA, Leroy of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Gary of Iowa City, IA; two daughters, MaryLee Quinn of Oklahoma City, OK and Alice Wurtz of Topeka; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 AM Tuesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 2 PM Monday, with a prayer service at 7 PM Monday, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Henry and Mary Hunninghake Memorial Scholarship at Benedictine College, 1020 N. 2nd St., Atchison, KS 66002.
