Patricia L. "Pat" Haverkamp

Patricia L. Fangman Haverkamp, 78, of Seneca, Ks, died Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2016, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
She was born on April 10, 1938 in Axtell, Kansas to Albert and Irene Koch Fangman. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade school; graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1956 at St. Benedict, Ks.
On June 18, 1957, she married William L. “Bill” Haverkamp at St. Mary’s Church in St. Benedict. They farmed east of Seneca until they opened a Cooper Feed dealership in 1962, selling feed and livestock equipment. In 1985, they added crop insurance and trailer sales to the business. In 2006, the business was sold upon Bill’s passing.
Pat continued to work part time for Dan Olenhouse Insurance and for the Nemaha Valley School, as a para and cook. She also served many years on the Nemaha County Election Board and volunteered with the Pony Express organization.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and the St. Ann’s Altar Society. Most important to Pat was her family. Pat also enjoyed bowling, cards, cooking, baking, walking, and gardening. Plus, many mornings, by having a cup of coffee with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband William on August 21, 2006; her parents, Albert on May 18, 1996 and Irene on August 6, 1994; and an infant brother, Albert William Fangman on October 2, 1942.
Survivors are eight sons, Bill (Julie) of Topeka, Justin (Deb) of Overland Park, twins, Dale (Michelle) of Maize, and Dean (Nhu) of Annandale, Virginia, Patrick (Amy) of Seneca, Bruce (Liese) of Topeka, Doug (Laura) and Scott (Deb), both of St. George; two daughters, Juanita Koelzer of Kansas City, MO and Marilyn (Don) Engelken of Frankfort; four sisters, Jean Walters of Topeka, Lita Farley of Millington, Tennessee, Linda Fangman of Topeka and Sylvia Nordhus of Olathe; 23 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Sunday, September 18th at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Monday, September 19th at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter & Paul School, and sent in care of the family.
