Paul Richard Henry

Paul R. Henry, 94, of Seneca, Kansas died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Paul was born on May 9, 1928 to Anthony T. and Rose Vondenkamp Henry on a farm southeast of Seneca, Kansas, where he was raised with his six siblings. After attending Sts. Peter and Paul High School he worked for Davey Tree Service Company until joining the Army, serving his country from 1950 to 1952.
Paul married Josephine “Jody” M. Renne on February 14, 1953 at St Joseph’s Church in Shawnee, Kansas. Paul died just 13 days prior to the couple celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. Paul owned and operated the Log Cabin Gas Station from 1953-1974. He also had a lawn business and he took great pride in being accomplished in maintaining lawns for his customers.
He was a member of and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Seneca Knights of Columbus Council 1769 and the Earle W. Taylor Post 21 of the American Legion in Seneca.
Paul was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Henry; his parents, Anthony and Rose; his brother, Eugene Henry; and sisters, Leta Tangeman and Dorothy Olberding.
He is survived by his wife, Jody; children, Charles (Joyce) Henry of Manhattan, Jackie (Mike) Heinen of Centralia, Sheryl (Darcy) Kunze of Randolph, Robert (Cyndi) Henry of Ninilchik, Alaska, Paula (Brian) Winkler of Marysville, Tony (Jan) Henry of Salina and Brad (Kami) Henry of Bend, Oregon; two brothers, Linus Henry of Weatherford, Texas and Bill Henry of Wyle, Texas; one sister, Joan Klier of Ocala, Florida; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild.
A rosary will be prayed on Friday, February 10 at 7 P.M. at the Lauer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in the Catholic Cemetery, with full military honors.
Memorials may be left to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital Building Fund, sent in care of the family.

So sorry to hear of Paul’s passing , I went to school and grew up with Tony , sometimes when we were hanging out at their house , Paul would come in and visit with us , seemed he always had a valuable life lesson to share , Paul was a very good man , he will be missed
