Robert William Smith died peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas.

He was born in Seneca, Kansas on March 23, 1934 to George W. and Caroline H. (Siske) Smith.

Robert lived in Seneca, Kansas City, KS, Hot Springs, AR and Topeka, KS, working at Bethany Hospital and retiring from the State of Kansas in 1997.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Faye Peppersack, and four brothers, Clarence, Carvan, Herman and Dorus.

He is survived by sisters Dorothy Eberly of Ralston, NE and Maxine Mayhew of Titusville, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was an avid supporter of the KU Jayhawks, the Dallas Cowboys and the KC Royals. He enjoyed family genealogy, historical trivia, travel and handiwork.

Family and friends will gather for a brief service at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, KS at 10 am Saturday, June 17, with burial to follow.

Memorials are suggested to the Friendly Visitor program of Catholic Charities or Midland Hospice, and may be made through Lauer Funeral Home.
