Ronald “George” Haug

Ronald “George” Haug, 73, of Seneca, KS, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at Crestview Manor care home in Seneca.

George was born on May 29, 1937 in Seneca to Omer and Lucille Noll Haug. He graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul School in Seneca in 1956. After school, he joined the U.S. Air Force on January 14, 1957 and served until discharged on June 22, 1960. In 1961 he moved to St. Louis, MO and was married. He and his wife had six children; they were later divorced. He returned to Seneca the spring of 1993, when he co-purchased Ray’s Auto Supply.

He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Society, the Knights of Columbus Council #1769, the Ponce de Leon Assembly #0283, all in Seneca. He was the treasurer for the Knights of Columbus Council for many years.

George was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren; he considered them to be his greatest accomplishment.

He is survived by his six children, Kevin, his wife Amy and their two sons, Levi and Isaac of Treloar, MO; Keenan, his wife Brita and their son Dylyn of Juneau, AK; Keir and Geri Heberlie of St. Louis, MO; Karin Haug and her son Dylan of Hayama, Japan; Kecia McKinnis, her husband Scott and their children Lucy, Grace and Patrick of Washington, MO; Korine Krieftmeyer, her husband Doug and their children Madeline and Alek of Washington, MO. He is also survived by his 10 sisters, Bobbie Osterhaus of Seneca, Sister Dominic Haug of Manhattan, KS, Sister Connie Haug of Great Bend, Dora Cross of Centralia, Gerriann Henry of Kansas City, MO, Jeanne Heiman of Wichita, Sue Haug of Seneca, Mary Haug of Hiawatha, Regina (Danni) Aldrine of Topeka and Cathie Wynkoop of Topeka; and his two brothers, Larry Haug and Mike Haug, both of Seneca.

He was preceded in death by his father, Omer E. on March 21, 1991; his mother, Lucille M. on September 13, 2006; his brother, Omer “Cotton” on February 16, 2007; and a infant sister Theresa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 AM Saturday, May 7, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM on Friday, May 6, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials may be given for the Sts. Peter & Paul Building Fund, and sent in care of the family.
