Rosanna M. Haverkamp, 90, of Corning, Kansas, died on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Topeka.

Rosanna Magdalen Lierz Haverkamp was born on October 22, 1932, on the family farm northwest of Frankfort, Kansas to Joseph P. Lierz and Mary Rottinghaus Lierz. She attended Allison Rural School.

On November 19, 1953, Rosanna married Kenneth R. Haverkamp at Annunciation Church in Frankfort, Kansas. For 60 years, the couple made their home together four miles southeast of Corning, KS.  Rosanna continued living at this location until shortly before her death. She enjoyed embroidering, cross stitching and spending time with family. She also loved to bake, garden and growing her flowers.

Rosanna was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Altar Society and the American Legion Arthur Mills Post #37 Auxiliary in Corning.

Rosanna is survived by her children, Raphael Haverkamp of Goff, Elaine Allison of Topeka, Regis Haverkamp of Netawaka, Teresa (Lee) Brown of Topeka, Francis (Lisa) Haverkamp of Holton, Edwin (Darla) Haverkamp of Wamego, Veronica Mapes of Hoyt, Marcia Ressequie of Havensville and Rosemary Ireland of Topeka; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, Joseph and Mary Lierz; a son-in-law, Asa Mapes; five brothers: Henry, Cyril, Joseph, Raphael and Alvin; and four sisters: Gertrude Wilmont, Genevieve Lierz, Ann Haverkamp and Mary Christy.

A rosary will be prayed at 2 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 PM on Monday, September 11, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be left in Rosanna’s memory to Brown County Humane Society, sent in care of the family.
