Ryan James Olberding, 20, of Seneca, KS, died Thursday, March 19, 2009.
Ryan was born on September 12, 1988, in Seneca, the son of James and Jean Steinlage Olberding. He grew up in Seneca, attended Seneca Grade School, Nemaha Valley Junior High, and graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in May 2007. After graduation, he attended Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, CO. Ryan worked in the horticulture department while attending college. He was currently attending Cloud County Community College in Concordia, KS.
He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Ryan was involved in basketball and the American Legion baseball program during his school years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, sports and spending time with his family and friends. His keen sense of humor and personality will be missed by everyone.
Besides his parents, James and Jean of Seneca, he is survived by his sister, Melissa Olberding of Silverthorne, CO; his grandparents, Robert and Leona Olberding, and Marvin and Joan Steinlage, all of Seneca; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM Monday, March 23, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Sunday, March 22, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorial contributions may be given in Ryan’s memory for the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital or Sts. Peter & Paul, and sent in care of the family.
