Thomas D. "Tom" Henry

Axtell, KS

07/23/1964 - 02/15/2018

Thomas “Tom” Donald Henry, passed away, February 15, 2018 at his home.

Tom was born July 23, 1964 in Axtell, KS to Joe Jr. and Evelyn (Feldkamp) Henry. He graduated from Wetmore High school in 1982 earning All District Honorable Mention in Football all 4 years and Homecoming King both his Junior and Senior Year.

On October 6th, 1984 Tom married Karen Melcher. They were later divorced. Together they gave life to Kirt (April) Henry, Kent (Hana) Henry, Kyle (Chelsea) Henry and Karla (Jake) (Henry) Hermesch. They were blessed with three grandchildren, Kadance, Aidan, and Alma. In addition to his children, he was survived by siblings Michael (Cheryl) Henry of Topeka, Wayne (Brenda) Henry of Holton, Alan (Paula) Henry of Wetmore, Rosemary Henry of Holton, Kathy Scheid of Goff, Joyce (Kenneth) Stallbaumer of Wetmore, and Jeff (Trudi) Henry of Topeka.

Following High School he attended mechanic school in Kansas City, MO. He went on to have a career centered around the automotive industry. He first started work at Roeder Implement and continued on at Henry Brothers Implement for several years. Following his move to Topeka, Tom went on to work at Laird Noller Ford Quicklane where he was a service writer. He held various security positions around the Topeka area prior to his passing.

Thomas had a passion for the outdoors. Grilling, smoking meats and riding his Harleys were just some of the many activities he enjoyed doing. Tom spent most of his free time traveling and enjoying the scenery around the country, including Arkansas, Colorado, and South Dakota. This dedicated hobby of his even won him the “Best in Show” award at the 2017 Seneca Car Show for his newly refurbished Harley Davidson.

Tom had a true desire for friendship, anyone and everyone was his friend.

The rosaries are being prayed at 2:00 and 7:00 on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Mass of Christian burial is being held at 11:00 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca on February 19th, 2018.
