Thomas G. Kuckelman, 69, of Seneca, Kansas, died early Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

He was born on April 19, 1943 to Frank and Josephine Smutny Kuckelman, Sr. He attended Sts. Peter & Paul School, graduating from high school in 1961. He attended Washburn University. As a young man he worked for area farmers. He entered the military in 1968, serving in the Air Force Reserves, and was stationed at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He married Judy Ann Sedlacek on November 14, 1970 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.

Tom sold real estate with his father, Frank Sr.; he also farmed and raised cattle.

He enjoyed driving the countryside, going to auctions and collecting coins and antiques. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca and St. Joseph’s Society at the church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Henry Sr. on July 27, 1987; and his mother, Josephine Mary on December 3, 1989.

Tom is survived by Judy, his wife of 41 years; his children, Jill Ann (Jason) Hammes of Seneca, Dana Ann (Brad) Bassett of Dover, Kansas and Adam Germain (Julie) Kuckelman of Seneca; his brother, Frank Kuckelman, Jr. of Seneca; two sisters, Jane Dorn of Seneca and Ann Cobb of Oskaloosa; and five grandchildren, Ashley Hammes, William Bassett, Isabelle Hammes, Oliva Bassett and Hudson Kuckelman.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Sunday, June 10, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Monday, June 11, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School or Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, and sent in care of the family.
