Timothy M. Burdick, 30, of rural Sabetha, Kansas, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at his home south of Fidelity.

He was born on August 21, 1981 in Merriam, Kansas at Shawnee Mission Hospital to Robert and Beverly King Burdick. He grew up in the Shawnee area and attended St. Joseph School there. In 2000, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country for two years assigned to the Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 40th Field Artillery at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After discharge, he was employed doing construction and landscaping in the Kansas City area. For the past three years, he farmed with his father on the family farm near Fidelity.

Tim enjoyed playing baseball, fishing and hunting, and took great pleasure in being outdoors. He was a proud father and cherished the time he spent with his daughter.

He is survived by his father, Robert (Sandy) Burdick of Fairview; his nine-month-old daughter, Ava Suzanne Burdick of Shawnee; Ava’s mother, Terra Grey of Shawnee; his sister, Julie Burdick of Overland Park; his grandfather, Leonard Burdick of Sabetha; and his grandmother, Doris King of Milan, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Burdick on May 6, 2000; his grandmother, Suitberta Burdick; and his grandfather, Junior King.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Saturday, June 2, at St. Augustine Church in Fidelity, Kansas. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Friday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, with the family visiting with friends one hour prior to the rosary, and afterwards.
